North Road Burial Ground is one of three cemeteries operated by the council in the Southend borough-the others are Sutton Road Cemetery and Crematorium and Leigh Cemetery. The three Cemeteries total over 60 acres. The Sutton Road Cemetery has burials dating back to 1900, 34,600 graves and, as at November 2009, there have been over 93,000 burials. Southend Borough Council also provides a complete burial and maintenance service for the Jewish Cemetery in Stock Road.
